State Volleyball!

West Deleware made it to state volleyball (not surprising) so of course we went! We even all got shirts! The 1st game was Monday...Mom, Grandma, the 3 kids, and myself all went down! The kids were so excited to get out of school and cheer on one of their favorites!

Go Carlee!

Kyle looking pretty cute!

After the game...they won! Of course...in 3 games!

Grandma was able to borrow a wheelchair which made things much easier!

It was very exciting and thankfully my mom went because Kael did not have much interest in the game....and I have  A LOT of interest in the game....and like to watch the game and not answer 50 million questions from a 4 year old! Kreighton got to sit with the WD parents....Kristi was so awesome and just let her hang with her!

They played again on Thursday...this time just Kreighton and I went...Grandma had a luncheon and we knew they would win and play again!
And they did...3-0!

They played in the finals...Friday...I was literally nervous going to bed Thursday night I cannot imagine how the players and parents felt!
Here is the card Kreighton made for Carlee! She had to re-do once because she said that she did not have Carlee's hands right! The final match was so exciting....and they WON! 3-0 it was awesome and so neat to watch! The girls played awesome and were so deserving of the win!

Grandma and Kreighton after the games....we had so much watching the girls play this year...I was a little sad it was over!

I love these next pictures....Kreighton could NOT wait to see Carlee!

Two HAPPY girls! Carlee was named MVP of the tournament....and played like a rockstar!

After the game...with Grandma and Cindy!

I cannot even tell you how neat the whole season was! All the girls were great! I cannot think of anyone else I would want Kreighton to look up to then Carlee! She is best volleyball player in the state...really she was voted the best player in the state...I mean how awesome is that!  She is a great girl all around! On Kreighton's Christmas list she has a volleyball and volleyball kneepads! We are sad the season is over but so happy that she is continuing her career at Upper Iowa next year! Go Peacocks!

Hawkeye Game

We took the kids to a Hawkeye Men's game...I am not even sure who they were playing but it was a non conference so the tickets were super cheap!

Kyle getting geared up for the big game!

A stop at Applebees to eat before the game!

Kael was pretty content with eating popcorn!

Mom and Kreighton cheering the Hawks on!

A little Throwback...Kreighton and I at Carver 3 years ago!

And you cannot got to Carver and NOT get ice cream!

Kyle HAD to wear shorts because we were going to a basketball game and that is what they wear! Thankfully it was unseasonably high temps in December!

Family Selfie!

Kael wanted to see Herky so bad.....he kept saying "Mom where is that guy with the big head"

And this is where we parked....the same place Mom and Dad park for all the Iowa Football Games!

It was a fun day...Kreighton and Kyle totally got into it...I am not so sure Kael had any idea what was going on and was interested in walking and climbing around! BUT I cannot wait to go back! And I just love that we have no babies/toddlers (ok well it makes me a little sad) BUT that we can do big kid things!

Kyle 1st Wrestling

\

Kyle had his 1st wrestling meet....I admit I was a little nervous watching him at his 1st wrestling meet....BUT he did great! And I have to admit so did I...I did not get as nervous as I thought!

His 1st match...he won! And was a tough cookie!

Getting ready for match #2!

Took him down!

And went in for the pin!

I did not get pictures of his 3rd match....but he lost in overtime! But stayed tough and tried hard!

Fred and Kyle getting geared up!

This is how Kael watching wrestling....he was sort of over it by this time!

Clay and Carter....great wrestlers and great kids!

Love this one the boys talking to Kyle after his 3rd match!

Such a happy boy up on the podium!

Looking TOUGH!

Love this one of the 4 boys laughing between matches!  All the boys do a great job of cheering each other on!

It was a fun day....and maybe just maybe I can handle this wrestling thing!

Gymnastics Meet/Tractor Museum

Playing catch-up...again!
The kids had their 1st gymnastics meet at Rock Island it was a ways away BUT the John Deere Tractor Museum is in the same area so we thought we could double up! We had to get up VERY early and leave...but we had things packed and ready to go!

Kyle and Kreighton ready to go!

Kyle did great...he only had one pass which was forward roll x 3, straddle roll, and then forward roll. He did great....toes pointed, straight legs and arms. He was the only one in his group so he got first....but his score did beat some of the older boys!

So HAPPY with his trophy!

Kreighton ready to go...she did great and did the same pass and Kyle but also does a back pass. She also did great but her one foot went off the mat which is a MAJOR deduction! And pretty much ruined her score!

She got 6th...which was last...she was a little sad and tried to hold back the tears....I felt bad for her but a lesson learned!

It was a great 1st meet the kids had so much and we learned a lot! I do feel like it is a great thing for the kids to do....I feel like it teaches them so much! We cannot wait for the next one!

Next up Tractor Museum!
We took the kids almost 4 years ago! Which means Kreighton was the same age and Kael is now!

Kyle Age 6

Look at his baby face!
Kyle Age 2

My BIG girl at age 8!

Age 4....I think she must have just given herself a haircut! And still has the same smile!

Fred also had fun!

And nothing has really changed from 4 years ago!

Hanging out!

And 4 years ago...Kael does not need his big sister to hold him anymore!

Kael decided to lounge here!

And 4 years ago he hung out for part of the time in the car seat! How did I ever have a baby this little!

Family Picture!

And as close I got to a family picture 4 years ago!

It was such a fun day! And I hope a tradition I hope we keep!
